Baby Love Me Read online

“Ahhh, Hunter, I’m sorry,” she apologized, grabbing some tissues and wiping the wound clean. “I didn’t mean to cut your chin.” She tried reassuring him it was only a small nick, but Hunter was persistent, whining like he’d lost half a gallon of blood.

“My beauty!” Hunter continued to whine. “It’s all gone. Who’s going to love me now?” He grasped Clarice’s hand and laid it against his cheek and said with his big azure eyes, “Promise me you’ll love me no matter what. Even when I’m old and wrinkly and have lost all my beauty, you’ll still love me.”

“Hunter.” Clarice patted his cheek playfully, soothing him. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that since I’m older?”

“I know.” He groaned again, playing with her pajama buttons, then started unbuttoning them. “But you have a baby face. You look younger than me already. I have to retain my beauty so you don’t look at other men. I’m already jealous of Anton. And you remember that guy you dated at the Cambodia restaurant? I got jealous of him too.”

Clarice wasn’t aware that Hunter was seducing her. He made quick work of unclothing her. And because Clarice was so consumed with their conversation, her mind going back to that date with Darcy, she didn’t realize Hunter already had her undressed and was now sucking at her nipple.

“Hunter…” she hissed, swatting his head at the feel of his hot tongue.

Hunter wouldn’t stop but gave a lecherous grin instead. Then he stood up, dragging her up along with him.

“I want to make love to you in the bathtub,” he declared.

“What? Right now? No. It’s indecent. Let me go.” She shouted her protest.

“Too late, baby, you’re already half undressed. Let me just finish my job.”

With that, Hunter kneeled on the bathroom tile and trapped her body close to his, then started licking her sensitive skin all over, from her navel all the way to her rosebuds.

“No.” Clarice attempted to yank his hair, except now it was too short to get a grip. She cursed herself for demanding he cut his hair. Now there was no way to stop his mischievousness.

“Can’t you give in to me for once?” Hunter pleaded between sucking and licking. “It can be my prize incentive for cutting my hair and cooking you dinner.”

“The dinner that tasted so salty I had to add nine parts of plain rice?”

“It’s your own fault. You said it tasted nice.”

“Hunter, stop this. I have to go to work soon. I might be late.” Clarice struggled within the prison of his arms.

“No, you won’t be late. We’ve got a good half hour left. Enough to make love in the bathtub before going off to work.”

Clarice only ground her teeth as Hunter’s lips descended upon her breast once more while she grasped his hair for support. The sensation of that hot tongue on her skin caused a shiver to run down her spine. Her knees buckled and she knew she was about to fall.

The first thought that hit her was her baby. She didn’t want to have a miscarriage, especially not in the process of making love. But luckily, Hunter caught her in time and carried her to the bathtub.

Clarice saw there was already soapy water drawn in the tub. The scent of peaches wafted into her nose. When Hunter had drawn the bath, she hadn’t a clue. But somehow she had a vague feeling he had this planned from the very beginning.

Gently sitting Clarice beside the tub, Hunter peeled off the remainder of her clothes, and once done with his too, he got into the tub, pulling her in with him. Holding her so she lay nestled within his arms, he brought his hand under the soapy water to cup it and started washing her back. The slippery foam against Clarice’s skin elucidated another violent jolt within her.

“Hunter, stop this, please,” she begged through her raspy voice.

“Too late now, baby,” he teased, bringing her to another level of euphoria.

With his soapy fingers, Hunter easily found her forbidden passage and slipped his finger inside. With his other hand, he gently fondled Clarice’s breast, painting her whole body with the peachy scented foam.

Clarice bit her lip to stop another moan from escaping, but she couldn’t help herself. “Hunter,” she gasped out. “What are you doing?”

“I’m washing you, baby,” Hunter replied. And when that finger of his thrust deeper into her core, she shuddered, her breath taken away. Hunter took this opportunity to pinch her rosebud again.

Clarice tried to keep her sanity in tact, but it was getting really difficult. She managed to reprimand him but failed again when he only laughed and responded, “But I’m only washing you, baby. Don’t you like it?”

What is there to like? she thought.

But Hunter didn’t wait for a response as he continued his sweet torture on her body. He kissed her from her eyes all the way to her neck while rubbing his soapy hand all over her body.

The wet sensation and his sweet husky voice were driving Clarice mad. This is not washing, she wanted to say, but no words would come out except for the sounds of sweet moaning. “Please, Hunter.”

Clarice didn’t know whether she was begging him to stop or to continue his sweet torture. She just wanted everything to stop fast. But somewhere along the way, she found her body moving in rhythm with his finger thrusting inside her. And when her panting breath turned uncontrollable, he turned her around and entered her in one swift motion.

Clarice bit down hard on her lip to stop that sudden shriek of surprise, but after a while, her body became so responsive to Hunter’s invasion that it sang, little by little until they formed a beautiful chorus.

Hunter didn’t stop playing Clarice’s beautiful body like an instrument. He continued to pluck her, thrusting his member deep inside her, feeling her love enveloping him, until with a violent jolt, she climaxed and relaxed into his arms. Then—

  Bonk!

Clarice’s hand smacked the side of Hunter’s head.

“What was that for?” Hunter asked, rubbing his sore head.

Clarice got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around her naked body. “I said I was in a hurry. Now you’ve done it. You’ve made me late again.”

Hunter could only chuckle as he watched Clarice flutter about looking for her clothes.

Well, he thought, rubbing his head and wounded chin, my partner sure is into domestic violence. But at least I got my morning snack.

  Chapter 7

“Clarice.” Molly came into the surgery as Clarice was looking at her patient’s file before the gum surgery later that morning.

“Yes,” she replied when Molly called her name.

“That hot dude is here again,” Molly said, fanning her red-hot face.

“Hot dude?” Clarice asked, racking her brain of any hot dude she knew, and when none came, she asked Molly again. “Who is it? One of my patients?”

“No. If only your patient were this hot, then I’d snatch him up right away. But sadly, this one’s taken.”

“Oh,” Clarice said, then turned back to the X-ray viewer to inspect the level of bone loss around the tooth, not particularly interested in hearing about a hot dude that had obviously been taken. “And why are you telling me this?”

“Because he’s here to see you.”

“See me?” Clarice looked even more baffled. “Who are you talking about?” Now if it’s not my patient, who might that person be?

“The guy who waited for you when you were going to the conference ball a few months back,” Molly explained. “He waited for you for an hour, and we thought he was a patient here until he told us he was waiting to take you to the ball.”

“Shit. Hunter?” Oh my! She swore again. Lately, she’d been swearing quite a bit since Hunter came to live with her. Not to mention her personality had made a complete one-eighty from the normal pleasant girl to the hot and spicy one. But she didn’t have time to think about her bad language or change of personality as she made a dash right away to the staff room, thinking what in heaven could possess Hunter to visit her here in the dental practice. Dear he
aven, she hoped he didn’t burn down the house while practicing his cooking skills.

When Clarice got to the staff room, she almost swallowed her own tongue due to fright, but the man in question sat like he was a Greek god who owned the dental practice with his long, lean leg crossed over the another, a magazine in one hand and a cup of tea in the other, a faraway look on his face. On his chin was a little Band-Aid from that wound she’d caused with that sharp razor. At that moment, she felt a little mad with herself for marking his beautiful, flawless skin like that.

“Hunter!” she called out when she saw him. “What are you doing here? Did something happen? Have you hurt yourself? Does your wound hurt? Did you burn the house down?”

“Ah, Clarice.” Hunter stood and gave her a peck on her cheek. “Just relax, will you? I’m fine. I didn’t hurt myself. My chin doesn’t hurt, and I didn’t burn down your house,” he said, holding her cheeks.

“Then what are you doing here?” she asked, blinking at him.

“I came because I found out you’re about to perform surgery.”

  “Yes.” Clarice nodded. “And?”

“You can’t do it.” Hunter gave out his order.

  “Why?” she asked in confusion.

“Because you’re pregnant,” Hunter said simply.

“Yes, I’m pregnant,” Clarice agreed, “but I’m not disabled.”

“But you’re already five months pregnant, almost six. You’ll get tired.” Hunter reinforced his statement, hoping she would give up on the task and just rest at home.

“If I get tired, it will be because of what happened this morning.”

  “You didn’t enjoy it.”

“I wouldn’t say that, but don’t ever attempt that again. I was really in a rush to get here.”

“Well, I’ll make sure to wake you up earlier next time, then.”

“Hunter, stop talking about that. I’m embarrassed. Now back to our conversation at hand. I’ll be fine here. It’s only surgery. You just go home.”

  “But I’m worried.”

“I’ll be fine,” Clarice reiterated, pushing Hunter towards the door, having had enough of his nonsense. “Plus, I need to work to keep myself active.”

Hunter’s eyes lit up at once when he heard this. “You can keep active in other ways too,” he said. “I can keep you active. Especially at night, or in the morning we could… murummm.”

“Hunter, for heaven sake, don’t say stuff like that here.” Clarice clamped Hunter’s mouth shut before he could say those embarrassing words. She already knew she was a lewd woman, so there was no need to reiterate that fact.

“Whatever, but I can’t allow this.” Hunter continued with his protest when Clarice released him.

“Look, I promise I won’t work too hard, okay?” She reasoned with him.

“When are you going to go on leave?” Hunter asked suspiciously, as if not believing a single word she said.

“I’ll put in my leave soon, okay?” Clarice gritted her teeth.

Was this what it was like to have someone care for you? Clarice had to wonder at the thought. It felt more like Hunter was nagging her instead.

“Okay, then. I’ll be right here. I’ll take you home after you’re done,” Hunter said as he made his way to sit on the couch again and picked up a magazine.

“Hunter, there’s no getting it into your head, is there?” Clarice said, shaking her head.

“No, not really.” Hunter smiled his radiant smile again and his eyes returned to their sparkling blue. “Not when you haven’t said you love me.”

“Again with that. When the time is right, I’ll—” But she didn’t get to finish her sentence because Hunter stood back up and cut her off with a kiss on her lips. Clarice was left speechless.

“Now go do your surgery. I’ll wait here in the staff room like a good partner would,” Hunter ordered.

“A good partner!” She scoffed and rolled her eyes before turning to go.

But then Hunter trapped her from behind, imprisoning her body between the door and himself, then whispered into her ear, “Don’t you believe I’m a good partner? Wait until tomorrow morning. I’ll wake you up in a way you’ve never woken up before.”

“Hunter!” She gasped and spoke under her breath so her other staff wouldn’t hear her. “Don’t you go ruining my attention span? I’m about to perform gum surgery here. I need full concentration.”

“Then you better repeat after me. Hunter is a good partner. Otherwise, I’ll do wicked things to you when you get home,” Hunter whispered huskily into her ear again, which made her stomach melt and her breath hitch.

Not now, she told herself, not now. She needed focus. She couldn’t have Hunter seducing her when she was about to do surgery. This morning was already bad enough.

But Hunter didn’t stop there. “Shall I elaborate so you can paint the image in your head? Me slowly crawling underneath the blanket while you’re asleep. Then lifting your nightdress, I’ll suck on your—”

“Fine! Fine! A good partner!” Clarice immediately repeated before she turned lewd again. “Hunter’s a good partner. Happy now?”

“Very happy.” Hunter said as he stole a kiss on her cheek again before opening the door for her.

Hunter gave a chuckle as he watched his partner go perform her surgery with so much love reflected in his eyes, if Clarice were to turn back to look at him, she would know how truly serious he was about their relationship.

But Clarice didn’t turn back. She knew if she did, she would be like ice cream, melting into his arms on a hot scorching day, rushing back into those open arms of the man she was in love with.

  Chapter 8

No matter how many times Hunter said he didn’t want to see Caroline regarding any sort of meeting and that all meetings should go through Anton, he was still stuck in this position. And right now, after their discussion of the upcoming merger, Caroline was still glued to his side like a double-steamed bun, even when everyone had disappeared already.

Hunter had tried escaping, hiding in his office, but the woman couldn’t understand human language. She’d followed and now was harping about how he should change the bright-blue Band-Aid on his chin, covering the razor wound Clarice had inflicted upon him yesterday morning.

“Really, Hunter, you should change it.”

God, he was sick of her voice.

“I said it’s fine,” he told her. “I don’t want to. You can go do your work now.”

“But it looks really odd with the bright blue like that. It would be better if you change it.”

“I said, for the hundredth time, I don’t want to change it. Now go.”

Hunter knew he looked ridiculous with that bright-blue bandage on his chin, but he didn’t care. The reason still remained that Clarice, his lover and partner, had applied that Band-Aid for him herself, early this morning. And there was no way in hell he would take it off until he got home tonight.

Clearly, Caroline didn’t listen to him as she ripped the strip off his chin.

“What the hell?” Hunter gasped in shock. “What the hell did you do that for?”

Hunter went to grab the discarded Band-Aid, but Caroline had already thrown it away in the bin. Then she snaked her arms around his neck

“What the fuck!” Hunter growled. He wished to God no one would barge in on them in this position. Honest to God, his reputation was already tainted as a Casanova, so any sort of interaction with any woman apart from Clarice was a complete no-no. “What the hell are you doing? This is during working hours.”

“So it’s fine if it’s not during working hours, then?” Caroline asked sneakily, winding her fingers around Hunter’s neck to draw him closer.

“Caroline, this is not appropriate. Let my neck go.”

Hunter tried to unclasp her fingers from around his neck, but she was like a leech sucking his blood. No matter how hard he tried to push her off, she only stayed put.

  “Get off!” he growled again.

Caroline finally relented and let go. She gave a lecherous chuckle that disgusted him.

“That’s because you asked nicely. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have let you go.”

“Get out,” he demanded in anger and drove her out of his office. “For the last time, don’t attempt to do this kind of disgusting thing again. You know I already like someone. So leave me alone.”

And before Caroline could butt in another word, he slammed the door in her face and locked it just to make sure she didn’t turn up and disturb his peace again.

How could he get Caroline out of his life? Did he need to tell his cousin? Maybe he should. He didn’t want Clarice to misinterpret any situation. His Casanova ways were long gone now. He didn’t crave for anyone’s touch apart from Clarice’s.

Glancing at the clock, he realized there wasn’t a lot of time left before he had to complete the report Anton had asked him to do. Gritting his teeth, his mood only worsened as time flew, because all his focus was long gone.

With his mood even worse than Mount Cook erupting at that moment, when the door rattled, he exploded. He stalked to the door and yanked it open. Poor Winton was the one at the door, shaking in his boots to see Hunter in this state.

“What the hell do you want now?” Hunter growled at his underling.

“Master Anton wants to see you,” Winton whimpered.

“I’ll be there soon.” Then he slammed the door in Winton’s face.

When ten minutes passed by, and Hunter still showed no sign of moving out of his seat, another knock was heard.

“Shit!” he cursed and was prepared to open the door and give an earful to whomever was on the other side of the door, when—“Shit!”

The door was shoved open from the other side and hit his forehead, making bright stars appear in his eyesight.

What the bloody hell is wrong with everyone! he wanted to yell out loud, but the pain was throbbing in his forehead, preventing him from doing so. When his eyesight returned, he saw Fern standing in front of him, a sorry look on her face.
